Gringa Productions began in a small, Hispanic village in Northern New Mexico. East coast transplant and Head Gringa, Lexie Shabel, created the company with its first film, House of Rock, a rockumentary about caveists and their homes blasted from rock. VFWbya combines Gringa's love of regional happenings and music by rockumenting a community of musicians that took over the Santa Fe Veterans of Foreign Wars post, creating a happening scene. WE LIKE TO DRINK: We Like to Play Rock'n'Roll follows The Unband thru a mockumentary existence as they rise, fall and try to get back up again. This film has something for the rock as well as the doc fans. Finally, the ME film, is about the birth, death and rebirth of filmmaker Lexie Shabel as she looks at an extraordinary life before, during and after a breast cancer diagnosis.
